위의 대화에서 사용된 to cash the check∼이라는 표현은 「수표를 현금으로 바꾸다」라는 의미로 미국 사회에서는 일반화돼 있는 개인 수표나 회사에서 발행된 수표를 현금으로 바꾸고 싶을 때 쓸 수 있는 표현이다. 응용해서 그냥 「그 수표를 입금시키고 싶은데요」는 I'd like to deposit this check please라고 하면 된다. 또 인출은 withdraw를 사용하면 되는데 「 100불을 인출하겠다」라는 의미로 I'd like to withdraw $100.00라고 표현하면 된다.
