→ Don't get me wrong...it's not that I don't like Christmas
→ I LOVE Christmas...
→ But what's with this "once a year" thing?!

I'd like to cash this check, please.

A: May I help you?
B: I'd like to cash this check please.
A: Could you sign on the back?
B: Sure.
A: How would you like your cash?
B: In tens and twenties please.
A: Here you are. Is there anything else I can do for you?
B: Yes could you tell me the working hour on Saturdays?
A: We're open till noon on Saturdays.
B: Thank you.
A: Have a nice day.
A: 도와 드릴까요?
A: 여기 있습니다.
A: 안녕히 가세요.
I'd like to deposit this check please라고 하면 된다. I'd like to withdraw $100.00라고 표현하면 된다.

Power transfer pitfalls

The wish is father to the thought. The earnest wish of the Bush administration is an end to casualties and spiraling expenditures in Iraq before the 2004 presidential elections. That wish gave birth to the ill-conceived pact struck last Saturday between the United States' Coalition Provisional Authority and the discredited Iraq Governing Council (IGC), which schedules the cession of sovereignty to an interim Iraqi government by next June.

I'd like to have a go at it.

A: Have you ever fished?
B: No, never. But I'd like to have a go at it.

'have a go (at something)'은 '시도해 보다'의 뜻으로, 'take a try' 또는 'give a try'와 바꾸어 쓸 수 있다.

" She has a sweet tooth. " :
A: Oh, look what Jeff bought us.
Jeff
B: Mmm, chocolates. Oh, they look good. Better keep them away from Susan.
A: Why? Is she on a diet?
B: No, but she has a sweet tooth. She’ll probably eat them all!
