캣츠를 생각하면 가장 기억나는 음악이 바로 이 Memory입니다. 섬세한 가사와 목소리가 가슴을 울리는 곡이지요. 제가 너무나도 좋아하는 곡입니다.
뮤지컥 캣츠는 T.S. 엘리어트의 시집‘지혜로운 고양이가 되기 위한 지침서(Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats)’에 나온 각 고양이들의 성격을 뽑아서 충실하게 무대화한 것으로 이를 바탕으로 각기 다른 개성과 성격을 지닌 고양이들의 삶을 통해 인간 세상을 상징적으로 보여주고 있다고 하는데요, 실제로 ‘지혜로운 고양이가 되기 위한 지침서(Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats)’자체가 감동입니다. 뮤지컬을 못보셨다면 먼처 책을 봐도 좋을 듯.. DVD도 나와있답니다.
