1. ÀýÁ¦(Temperance) : ¹èºÎ¸£µµ·Ï ¸ÔÁö ¸¶¶ó. ÃëÇϵµ·Ï ¸¶½ÃÁö ¸¶¶ó. Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation.
2. ħ¹¬(Silence) : ´Ù¸¥ »ç¶÷À̳ª ³ª¿¡°Ô µµ¿òÀÌ µÇÁö ¾Ê´Â ¸»Àº »ï°¡ ÇÑ´Ù. Áï ÀÚŸ¿¡ ÀÌÀÍÀÌ ¾ø´Â ¸»À» ÇÏÁö ¸¶¶ó. ¾µµ¥¾ø´Â ¸»Àº ÇÏÁö ¸¶¶ó. Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself ; avoid trifling conversation.
3. Áú¼(Order) : ¹°°ÇÀº Á¦ÀÚ¸®¿¡ µÎ¾î¶ó. ÀÏÀº Á¤ÇÑ ½Ã°£¿¡ Çضó. Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time.
4. °á´Ü(Resolution) : ÇؾßÇÒ ÀÏÀº °ú°¨È÷ °á½ÉÇ϶ó. °á½ÉÇÑ ÀÏÀº ¹Ýµå½Ã ½ÇÇàÇ϶ó. Resolve to perform what your ought; perform without fail what you resolve.
5. Àý¾à(Frugality) : ºñ½Ñ °ÍÀº »çÁö ¾Ê°í, ³¶ºñÇÏÁö ¾Ê´Â´Ù. Áï ÀÚŸ¿¡ ÀÌÀÍÀÌ ¾ø´Â ÀÏ¿¡´Â µ·À» ¾²Áö ¸» °Í. Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself; i.e., waste nothing.
6. ±Ù¸é(Industry) : ½Ã°£À» ¾Æ³¢°í, ºÒÇÊ¿äÇÑ ÀÏÀº ÇÏÁö ¾Ê´Â´Ù. À¯ÀÍÇÑ ÀÏ¿¡ Á¾»çÇÏ°í ¹«¿ëÇÑ ÇàÀ§´Â ²÷¾î¹ö·Á¶ó. Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions.
7. ¼º½Ç,Áø½Ç(Sincerity) : ³²À» ÇØÄ¡Áö ¾Ê°í ¼ÓÀÌÁö ¸»°í, Æí°ßÀ» ¹ö¸®°í °øÁ¤ÇÏ°Ô »ý°¢ Çضó. ¸ðµç ¾ðÇàÀº °øÁ¤ÇÏ°Ô Ç϶ó. Use no hurtful deceit; think innocently and justly; and if you speak, speak accordingly.
8. Á¤ÀÇ(Justice) : ³²ÀÇ ±Ç¸®¸¦ ħÇØÇÏÁö ¾Ê°í, ³ªÀÇ Àǹ«¸¦ ´Ù ÇÑ´Ù. Wrong none by doing injuries, or omitting the benefits that are your duty.
9. Áß¿ë(Moderation) : ±Ø´ÜÀûÀÎ °ÍÀº ÇÇÇÑ´Ù. ³»°Ô ÁË°¡ ÀÖ´Ù°í »ý°¢ÇÏ°Åµç ³²ÀÇ ºñ³°ú ºÒ¹ýÀ» ÂüÀ¸¶ó. Avoid extremes; forbear resenting injuries so much as your think they deserve.
10. û°á(Cleanliness) : ¸ö, ¿Ê, ÁýÀÌ ºÒ°áÇÑ °ÍÀº °áÄÚ ¿ë³³ÇÏÁö ¾Ê´Â´Ù. Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, clothes, or habitation.
11. ÆòÁ¤(Tranquility) : »ç¼ÒÇÑ ÀÏ, ºÒ°¡ÇÇÇÑ ÀÏ¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿© ȳª Â¥ÁõÀ» ³»Áö ¾Ê´Â´Ù. Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.
12. ¼ø°á(Chastity) : °Ç°ÇÑ ÀÚ¼ÕÀ» À§Çؼ¸¸ ºÎºÎ»ýÈ°À» Ç϶ó. °¨°¢ÀÌ µÐÇØÁö°í ¸öÀÌ ¼è¾àÇØÁö°í ºÎºÎÀÇ ÆòÈ°¡ ±úÁö°í ¼Ò¹®ÀÌ ³ªºüÁöµµ·Ï Çؼ´Â ¾ÈµÈ´Ù. Rarely use venery but for health or offspring, never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another's peace or reputation.
13. °â¼Õ(Humility) : ¿¹¼ö¿Í ¼ÒÅ©¶óÅ×½º¸¦ º»¹Þ°í ¹è¿ö¶ó. Imitate Jesus and Socrates.
